  • The majority of respondents (52%) feel that spending less time travelling was the key thing that had changed their lifestyle for the better, this was followed by using technology more to keep in touch with friends and family (45%).
  • Just 16% of respondents did not feel that any of the lifestyle changes listed had changed for the better for them since the outbreak.

Key differences by demographic

Age

More 16-24 year olds think the the impacts of Coronavirus have changed their lifestyle for the better, particularly spending less time travelling, working from home more, having more time to relax and do exercise and learning something new. Older age groups were the most likely to have been in touch with neighbours more and to select ‘none of these’.

Gender

Key differences were that more men have spent more time working from home whilst women have been accessing health services online or via the telephone.

Income

Households on higher incomes were more likely to have travelled less, used technology more to stay in touch and worked from home more. Households on the lowest incomes had more time to relax and were most likely to have not changed their lifestyle for the better.
