Walking and cycling for short trips
- In terms of encouraging active travel behaviour moving forward, the majority of respondents (60%) selected ‘safe/segregated/social distanced routes’ would encourage them to walk/cycle more for short trips.
- Just over a quarter of respondents (26%) said that ‘nothing’ would encourage them to walk / cycle for short trips.

Key differences by demographic
Younger residents are more positive towards all suggestions than their older counterparts.
Males are much keener on secure and undercover cycle storage than females (39% vs. 29%).
Higher earners are more positive towards all suggestions whilst lower earners are more likely to say ‘nothing’.
